Brickfield is an experimental brickworks inviting people to look again at the china clay tips and pits, with an eye on building a creative and sustainable future.
The Brickfield team are excited to be offering additional pop up brick making workshops on September 10th and 11th at St Austell’s iconic Great Treverbyn Tip at West Carclaze. Learn how to mix clay and mould bricks at the foot of this landmark Cornish pyramid using waste materials from china clay extraction.
There are two workshops each day. The morning sessions are bookable and the afternoons are drop in. On Thursday afternoon we’re running workshops until 6pm so that young people can to join us with a carer after school.
With the skytip as a brilliant backdrop for our community brick making, come along, make a brick and tell us what you think of this site as a place for community creativity.
